Lying as a teenager! Solutions and myths busted.
Your teenager’s lies may be masking other problems, so it’s important to know certain signs so you can intervene in a timely and appropriate way. It is a behaviour that is detested by the parent but, in reality, lying to children is a kind of “technical test” towards achieving autonomy and therefore, within certain limits, can be considered “physiological”. The parent’s role is to discern between a lie that hides an unpleasant truth and a lie that hides high-risk behavioural disorders.
The key to a healthy relationship between parents and teens is the ability of both parties to remain open to how unpredictable experiences shape each and to maintain respect for individual development so that connection remains possible. The course lists some of the “myths” of today’s education and explains the correct approach and is aimed at all those who want to harmonise their relationship with teenagers.
The first chapter includes a brief description of the signs that a lie is present and some advice on how to deal with these situations.
Chapter II presents “myths” that are wrongly addressed in contemporary education.
